Alexander in Kuwait

I love this sort of news , it is very interesting and wonderful

The Greek archeologists with the help of the Kuwaiti archeologists found the remainings of one of Alexander's fortresses in Kuwaiti island "Failaka"

Already the name of that island "Failaka" is thought to be from the Greek word "Fylakio" which means the {the advanced military position}

This Island is considered the oldest place in Kuwait that had seen people

Already its location is near the estuary of Tigris and Euphrates in to the Persian Gulf

The French archeologists before the Greeks had found a temple for some Greek goddess

The location of the Island was perfect to secure the trade and way to India

The archeologists are saying that there was a settlement built there they are working to find more about it , it was built in the fourth century B.C by Alexander's general, Nearchus

I wonder what happened to this settlement and I also wonder if the inhabitants of this island are actually the descendent of the early Greeks who settled there , just like on the Pakistani borders there is a village in the mountain inhabitants by those people who turned in the end to be from Greek Origin after all these years, already those people whom I read about in pictorial report looked more like the Greeks even after all those centuries , blonde with colored eyes ,they do not look like Pakistani at all

Of course now there are few inhabitants in the Island as they left it during the Iraqi invasion , most of the people did not return back to the Island which still bares the signs of Saddam's aggression

Before the Greeks arrival to the Island , the island had been inhabited by the Bronze Age Dilmun civilization.

It sounds that the area of Bahrain and Kuwait holds lots of secrets you need to dig to know it

This is so great ,really  I love this kind of discoveries, of course I wish the modern Kuwaitis will appreciate and respect these discoveries and make good use of it

  1. Don't say persian gulf. It is called the ARABIAN GULF.

    Don't empower our Iranian enemies

And don't give a damn about the western sources that refer to it as the Persian gulf. underming Arabs is a essential archetype in western civilsation

  3. Wow, Zeinobia it is very interesting to learnabout this civilsation you have digged!

When one contemplates at the brilliant 8000 years semitic Arab history of Iraq ( matched only by the pharoanic Arab history)- they just tremble with awe at the glory of Arabs. The semitc ancient near east, was centre of civilised world, untill it fell a prey to hords of Barabrian non- semitic Aryan Achaemenids, Parthians and Saasanid Indo-Iranian peoples who are known by the name of Persians.

Still, they never formed a single political entity, rather they were held together by the swords of their most powerful groups. Their relation with each other, and the elemnts in common among their cultures are far less significant than those that bring the semitc near-eastern (Arabs) together.

The Achamenids barabrians sacked the semitc Iraq and Egypt. And mimiced their culture.

Their civilsation, however, was never original in content. Simply a mere cut and paste from the Arabic near east. Later on the Greeks joined their ancient cousins and dominated the near east. Both pof them were diluting the authentic indeginous character of the Arab world.

Thank goodness, the semitic pennisula Muslim Arabs- decendants of Baylonyans, Pharoahs and syriancs- rose up, kicked the Persians and Romans out of the near east and consolidated the entire semitic peoples into an overarching Arabic semitic civilisation and nationalism.

It worth mentioning, that the two dimensionally minded, uninnovative Iranians didn't have an alphabet untill the Arabs brought them the Arabic alphabet and letters. What is worse, nothing is left from tehir ancient persian recods or monuments except for very feew exceptions. It is worth mentiong that the pride of Iran- a rtemple by the name of persoplis, built around 300 B.C is designed according to the Arab Babylonyan style!!

The sole contribution Persians had to human civilsation, which in no way can be matched to the Arabic one, was done when they were ruled by Arabs and when they wrote in Arabic. The only figures they have is Al -Razy and ibn El roomy who both wrote in the sophisticated linua Franca of sciense back then, Arabic!!

Still, the chauvnistic historically trivil, delusioned, ill-informed Iranians, are all under a stouch belief that they have great ancient civilsation!!! Alas, Arabs detroyed their culure( Arabs brought them alphabet, they didnt have one before).

Arabs who are most experienced with Persians are Iraqis, they had to go to war with Iran in 1979, in order to break its back, as the DIRTY KHOMEINY WAS playing out the religous feelings of ( shiites in the south of Iraq, who happen to be very different from Bahgdad and northern shiites, so as to extend Iran's influence over Iraq which they consider a part of Iran occupied by Arabs. Sadam hussien was engaed in serious project to secularise and mosernise the under developed south .That in turn had made the Iranians go crazy, especially that Iraq according to U.N and UNICIEF reports was expected to over take Holland in technological maturity, women rights, access to education and GNP.

The Howling dog- Ayatollah Khomeini stated that the road to Jerosalem passes by Bahgdad, and that liberating Jerosalem must be preceded by kicking the Saudis out of Mecca and bringing Egypt to shiism( Irani dominance)

P.S I repect shissim as school in Islam, however I hate and despise the malicous Iranian attempts to politcise it so as to serve malicous Iranian expansionst goals.

Since the MB held a deal with sadat in the seventies where he got their support, in return for allowing them to sieze control of Egyptian instiutions like University, minstry of education ands professionals' syndicates.

Consequantly, the heroic Iraqi war of defence aginst Iranian ignorance and barbarism is being misrepresented on the Egyptian arena which is being controlled by Iraniam partially safavidised MBs, In order to undermine the credibilty of secúlar modernist Arabist visions, in favour of religous fanatic Irani style state.

Days havce proven the long vision of Sadam, for now that the Iranians have joined the Americans in the invasion of Iraq and put the pro-Iranian poltical shiites as well as Iranian elemnts in Power in Bahgdad, where they got engaged in industralised genocide of shhite and Sunni Iraqis who oppose the Irani occupation of Iraq.

The Iranian interets in the middle east interste with Israel, as they both want partition divide and destroy Iraq, which will be the frist step in wiping out the Arab identity of the middle east by engineering artifical ethnic strives and tensions.

In this new middle east, Iran and Israel wll be the domiant power.

Here the loss for Egypt is tremendous, as Egypt's most powerful strategic asset, especially that it is an oiless resourceless country, is the fact that it is thepolitical and cultural capital of the Arab world. Hence its stratyegic weight is increased by many folds more than it is actual one. Its natinal security is safeguarded.

There what springs to my mind is the fact is withi a pan-Arab frame work EWgypt and Arabs become quite capable of bringing about a cultural rennaissance, that would redefine the globe and put Arabs baxk to the forefront as a super power with a weight equal to that of the United states.

I sincerely hope that you have learned something about historical roots of Arabism and nature of the strategic war between Arabs on the one side, Persians Americans and Israelians on the other.

  5. I really cant understand how would anyone ever manage to come out with answers like the ones you provide!!!!!!!

Zeinobia, you have to work on reconstructing your mind. I get very pessimistic over the futre of Egypt when I read your comments. Hence, I have decided to do my best to fix the structural damage made to your mind

we are not talking about th common origin of humanity, here. We are talking about a real tangible stratgic conflict and struggle between Arab culture on the one side, Iranian and Israelui on th other.

Zeinobia, do you know what you are talking about?. There is differences between Arabs , Istraleians and Iranisn, otherwise we wouldn't have been fighting over power and resources for so long................

Iranians are not part of this region they are enemies and have always been..........

it seems also that you dont know what tghe term eastern means LOL

tHE TERM EASTERN REFERS TO CHIMESE AND INDIAN CIVILSATIONs. Culturally, the perisan culture( not civilastion, because they never had a civilsation) is an offspring of the eastern one.

near east is transtionary region between the west and the east.

Finally, may I ask what do you do for a living????
